Got up at 5am Saturday and headed to Roanoke. Weatherman was calling for clouds and a chance of rain but I figured what the heck. I got to Roanoke just before the train pulled so I headed straight for the spot where 630 gave up the ghost last year, Singer. A sucker hole came about the time 630 came into view. The chase was on so I started west and made it to Elliston ahead the train and shot it just after coming under 460. Then I headed to Shawsville and got a couple shots.

After Shawsville I tried for Montgomery Tunnel since the clouds were back out but I could not find a place to park so I headed to Vicker. I got the shot that I missed last year at Vicker and then I headed to Friendship Road and caught them. I then raced to get back to Roanoke and managed to shoot them at Park St.

Once I met up with ztrain we headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway to catch them coming through the s-curve. By this time the sun was out so we scraped all our eastbound shots and headed to Bedford to wait for them to go to Lynchburg and turn. Once we got word from someone on the train that the were getting close we got in place and shot them westbound through Bedford.

Also got them coming by the old N&W station in Bedford also. After the train got by Bedford we headed back west toward Roanoke and caught them crossing the bridge at Montvale. After Montvale we headed to Webster and caught them coming by the CPLs.

After Webster my partner split off and headed home and I went back into Roanoke and shot them in front of the Wells Fargo tower in the rain. Once the rain stopped 217 rounds the corner with the 6934 leading. 1st one of these 60Es Ive seen around Roanoke.
After that I headed home trying to decide what to do for Sunday.

Excellent all around, Paul! I missed out on the opportunity right in my back yard sadly.
Thanks man. Ive still got Sundays to post.

Very Nice shots.
Good Stuff! Was the photo line at Vickers as big as it was last year??
I dont think I have ever see that many folks crammed into such a small space before...poor Carmon wound up having to kneel down and shoot between the legs of some guy...good thing she is short.
Yea..that don't sound right, but its the truth :)
No, it wasn't EM. It was only about 10-15 of us on the bridge. Not near what I was expecting. I think the weather had a lot of people scared off.

Here is one I forgot that would have went between the Bedford and Montvale shots on the Lynchburg run. 630 rounds the long curve at Irving Road.
