Title: Snow Foaming around Harriman
Post by: PGupton on February 02, 2013, 08:31:03 PM
9:30am: Cold, cloudy day. Nothing special.

10:30am: SNOWSTORM

Needless to say, as soon as I could wake my dad up we were on our way to Oakdale.
Stuck around there for like an hour, enough to catch a train going south and north (197, then 142). On our way back to the interstate we caught the pusher engines on a TVA coal train just on the Harriman side of the bridge in town. After that, I heard a train (167?) call at Emory Gap and we hopped over there for one last shot of the day.

It was nice to see some snow around here for once... I haven't photographed a train in snow in almost 2yrs! With the exception of a chase of the Durango and Silverton last March but there wasn't even a lot of snow then...
