Title: The original Norfolk Southern
Post by: Kentucky & Indiana Terminal RR on August 15, 2012, 06:17:11 PM
Thanks to a heads up from brother Emmett I was able to catch what I might consider the flashiest and best looking heritage unit, although the Illinois terminal is right on its heels. Here's a few shots from today around Waddy (Gods own backyard) KY. And one shot from veechdale.

You young whipper-Snappers have it good, I tell you what. Back in the day when I was your age, we chased trains..but we had to catch the front. Now all yall gotta do is drive around real slow and there it is right on the rear end......Kids.....

I guess you can teach a old dog new tricks...I wound up following the 891 this morning from Talamge, just to shoot the NS 1030 on the bottom. Sun was great for that end, but not the head end so it all worked out well  :)

Did you ever think you'd see the day....... :D not to start another debate but we all agree here that the ace is obviously louder in the cab than the ge's but its set up nicer for the engineer and we like it in the lead. I always thought if I were better at Photoshopping pictures I'd take one like the ones in this thread and make the rear internodal car or coal hopper look like a locotrol boxcar just for nostalgic spite. Thanks dan, that thing is beautiful up close!
