Title: Reading in the Kentucky Rain
Post by: E.M. Bell on August 05, 2012, 06:58:40 PM
NS 1067, the Reading heritage unit, has found itself captive in coal service out of Indiana for the past week, making several round trips on train 76J / 77J to E.W. Brown power plant near Burgin KY.  As luck would have it, every time it has been leading (West, back to the mines) it has either been after dark or I have been at work.

Knowing the 76J was headed back to the plant again this weekend with loads, I had hoped I might get lucky and finally be able to shoot it Westbound, but no luck. The train was much later than I had figured on, and they are just now starting to work the plant as of 1855..and it will surely be dark by the time they head back...oh well!

I ventured out in the rain this afternoon and grabbed a quick shot of it, 2nd out, as 76J took its own sweet time getting across the Louisville District. Maybe it will stick around another week or so and my luck will change!
