Attached are a few images from yesterday's chase of NKP 765/8100/et al on both sides of Williamson. It was delightful to see a full-sized main line steam locomotive thundering (yes, thundering...) along on heavy steel again. Thank you, NS!
The shots were taken at the Hatfield Tunnels, Chattaroy and Panco.
Man I can just hear her whistle echoing off the hillsides and that stack chanting.... Ron Thanks for sharing
Wonderful shots, Ron! I'm looking forward to chasing them at some point.
-Chip :)
Great shots! I wish I could have made it up there for the trips but your pictures make up for it.
Here's an angle of the Hatfield Tunnels that I don't think anyone else got. I was able to talk to the golf course owner and he let me walk over for the up-close-and-personal shot.
Mighty nice shot, Butch! How in the world did we miss each other?
Here's a gray scale image taken on the other side of the bridge, but showing the old eastbound tunnel on Main 1. I thought this had a Richard J. Cook "Lima Super Power" kind of look. This was taken mere moments after your shot.
I was just watching a Youtube Vid and she had a squealing N&W A class & Y class whistle .... simple awesome ... that sound I know sent chills down a few folks back
Thanks Ron-I didn't make it until Sunday
