Title: A few hours around Somerset KY 02/19/11
Post by: CarmonH on February 19, 2011, 09:19:48 PM
With Temps here in Central KY in the low 60"s today, and a forecast for partly cloudy skys, EB and myself headed out to shoot for a few hours this morning. He had been wanting to check out the progress on the new yard at Burnside, so we headed South. NS was fairly busy, and we got a few good shots before the clouds started to move in the early afternoon.

Here are a few from the trip, and the full sized versions can be found here at this link. http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/ns2011carm (http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/ns2011carm)

NS 40A passes under the new signals at CP Burnside, with the now completed yard tracks off on the right. In the full sized version, you can see the new crew change area in the far Left background.

A pair of Southbound manifest passes through the new (and relocated) CP at Tateville Ky, just South of Burnside.

NS 167 under the old school signal bridge at "Cumberland Chair" just North of Somerset. Check out the mismatched number boards on the leader.

Our last train of the day, Southbound 229, rolls around the curve between Science Hill, and Norwood KY. The sun would be gone behind the clouds shortly, not to be seen again.
