I joined a few weeks ago so thought I would share a few story's passed along to me in my 34 years with Southern and NS.
Years ago there were Blue Laws. What could be done and things that can't be done on Sunday. Well Tenneessee had one that no frieght trains could run on Sunday. Well Southern found a way to get arouind it. The law alowed freights to run if it carried live stock. Well Southern got a mule and put it at Cohutta. A north bound would stop and pick it up carry it to Chattanooga. Then the next southbound freight would take it back to Cohutta. Cohutta was the last north bound station in Georgia. This story was told to me by then Living Legend Dwight Cow Boy Mintz. Cow Boy died a number of years ago and I'm guessing he found a place to watch the trains.
