Any Old Heads Who Know My Grandfather.

I have a question, my grandpa Harvey "Doc" Padgett worked on the Southern Railway for 44 years before retiring in the early 50's. Does anybody who have worked for the Southern know anything about his career? All I know is that he worked for the Southern as a cook on work trains in Tennessee, and that he was based in Waynesburg, Kentucky, about 3-5 miles from me. Any old stories anybody might have known about him would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know more about his career. -Grant
