An Old time beauty

Bought this picture the other day, evidently they didn't last long on the southern, but this one at least made it long enough to get the tuxedo. Anybody remember these? I guess the 244 alco engine was their downfall, its a shame because (you better write this down, I may never say it again) I think emd f units were runners up in the beauty contest to these, obviously the performance division yielded a different winner.
