Title: Natural Tunnel-1980
Post by: Ponce de Leon on January 14, 2013, 10:37:18 PM
I found an old slide (well, 1980 isn't really that "old" to me!) I took of the eastbound Belmont train at Natural Tunnel in April 1980. The slide was terrible, because of the extreme range of very bright light on the top of the tunnel, and the dark, dark shadows on the tracks below. I must have gone for an f-stop and shutter speed to capture the train, because the top of the slide was "blown out."

I scanned it anyway and messed around with it this evening with Photoshop. It's not publication quality stuff, but I don't mind sharing it with JREBers. Natural Tunnel is still a cool place to see trains, but not as good as when Southern radio trains came winding down through there with 96 Silversides!

Looks pretty good, nice "dodge and burn" as it were!

Nice! When I was there... no trains. :'( But, still a beautiful place to go! Dan

Ilike it! Haven't caught a train coming thru the tunnel yet.
