Norfolk Southern management will be very pleased to hear of this.
Hmmmm..I see a new marketing scheme for Jreb....Time for JR to wax his legs and fire up the Grill....new server, here we come!!! :P
HAHA it'd be better if you could go in an engine.
Eat with a real engineer? I can do that almost anyday....LOL
send the seller lots of dumb railroad questions just for fun !
Work must be slow up in decatur.
Sounds like some rails trying to make a fan look stupid too me.
That was my thought. The description was pretty sarcastic. I can think of lots more exciting things to do, like having a root canal. I'm not surprised at the number of bids as of the time I'm posting this.
Quote from Ebay: "MUST BE 21 TO BID, and really would enjoy it if you were a hot female as this would be a lot more fun for me."
I wonder if he's giving females a discount? :P
Some guy with the Ebay user name pkap asked some questions; the seller never has answered. ::)
Apparently some turd decided to tattle-tale, and notified the corporate office about the auction. The seller has posted a copy of an email he got from the lawyers.

I knew NS wouldn't like the offer. The only person who is looking like a fool is the seller himself.
I thought it was kind of funny actually.
I can sort of see why NS didn't like it of course.
NS is known for their no nonsense approach to business. Furthermore, NS has somewhat of a big ego. Thus, the letter (the seller received) should have been received without surprise. And I'm not even considering the obvious liability concerns, either.
Oh, if the suits in Norfolk only knew what really takes place out from the Ivory Tower they live in... :D

I figured your first post was sarcastic. Hopefully no one on this board would be dumb enough to stick their nose into the deal.
Wow! The questions people are asking just keep getting better!

Well even if no one bids on it, the auction has been good for its entertainment value.

It had more to do with entertainment value of the auction than it did the actual idea of going drinking and dining.

Yeah that much was blatantly obvious.
Anyone want to eat with a railfan? $50...Upfront...LOL
I'll claim to be a railroader if someone just buys dinner!
Maybe we should do a bid for a cab ride haha.
