NS Chicago Line, Huntington Line 12-17-05

Well I arrive at the NS Chicago Line around 8:00 am and head to Waterloo on my way to Butler Indiana
First up is NS 24V sitting parked on track one just east of Waterloo. Next train is NS 32T a CP trackage rights train sitting on track one by the elevator east of Waterloo.
NS 881 a UP powered coal train passes heading west and I hear dispatch tell 881 to pull up to mp 367 and tie it down and cut the crossings. behind 3 other westbounds.
Next 32T is talking to the train master about the 29th car back throwing sparks and it had been cut out several times, then the air kept coming up again and throwing sparks again.
Dispatch was also talking about switch problems to the east towards Toledo.
Looks like it could be an interesting day.

32T is still waiting for the recrew dispatch ask if he wants to get on an eastbound to Toledo. He states he has been on the train all night he will wait for the cab. This turnes out to be a bad choice as the cab is supposed to come from Windsor and at the time I left at 3:30 pm the cab and recrew had still not shown up

Well that was an interesting day as the Chicago line was pretty much single tracked all day as there were many recrews dead trains and switch problems.
32T ended up getting the car department out and jacking the car up on the tracks for repairs.
Lots of Conrail blue was saw today along with at least 4 new units 2 were leading and some forgein power under blue skies.
