Saturday on the Rathole

Had a friend who wanted a tour of the KY end of the Rathole so we spent the day between Wiborg and Grove.  In between checking out the tunnels we caught 9 trains and probably missed 9 more.  Here are a few shots:

Dang it Butch, NOW I am gonna have to take the hike back down through the tunnels to get that shot at Bursinde. I had no idea the new bridge was that much higher!  I had tried a similar shot in the past before they rebuilt the 27 bridge, but the old bridge pretty much blocked the RR.. Excellent work on those!

The tunnel part is easy, then you have to work your way down to the edge of the water.  Oh yeah, don't forget climbinb back up.  I'm thinking boat rental.

Not a bad idea. How about this spring after it warms back up, a few of us rent a houseboat for a weekend and just hang out there around the bridge for a day...who is in?
