Looks like the codeline on the Winston Salem line is still active or at least it's in really good shape. That wonderful N & W signature codeline, with the bent "S" on the top of the pole for the lightening ground (neutral) wire and the three phase 4Kv power lines, has really gotten rare in just the past four years or so.

In the picture at South Yard there a metal tower structure behind the building to the right of the train with what appears to be a TV antenae on top, or something. Was this tower associated with the of Virginian electrification at one time or am I way off? Either way I may be through the area in October on my way to the Motorbus convention in Richmond VA, just depends on how many days I can get off in a row.

Good pictures.

I don't know?ATCS tower? According to my friend they have torn down all the old N&W CPLs and all code lines have been torn down between Martinsville and Winston Salem, but they still remain between Roanoke and Martinsville. And  thanks for the comment!
