To Mr. Bell or anyone else out there with knowledge of the area: I was wondering what is the reason the mains north of Danville yard are farther apart than a normal mainline, and also why the height difference?
Also, does the yard have an actual name or is it just Danville Yard?
Thanks, Doug

Its just Danville yard...no name that I have ever heard.

I often have thought that the tracks on the North end may have been build at different times, as there are no geological features that would explain it.  #2 track (South Main) has more of a hill to it and less cut and fill, which leads me to believe it was there first.  #1 track is more level from DV tower all the way to MP 115.

I guess thats one of those things we will really never know the answer to..
