Fellow modelers, if you've always wanted to model one of the early NS GP-38-2's, but didn't want to have to rebuild the step wells to do so, here is one unit that you can model without having to change the step wells and be completely prototypical at the same time.
This unit was involved in a serious accident some time back and has received a set of standard EMD steps along with a new fuel tank, conventional cab shades and a Conrail weed cutter plow on the long hood end only.
Looks like an easy modeling project for a not so ordinary locomotive.

Funny you posted about this, I just did this unit last week, it's not here right now and I don't have any pics of it handy but I'll be sure to get some.
