It's been a little while since I've posted here, so lets make it a rather big update. There's been a few heritage and special units come through as well as a new train to the CNO&TP, although with CSX power. I've also gone out and shot a few of the searchlight signals before they've fallen. So without further ado, below are a "few" pictures from the month of June. As always, check out my Flickr for more and hit that follow button :) >>https://www.flickr.com/photos/46459752@N08/

DLW 1074 leads NS 117 through Burgin

Interstate 8105 sits in Danville Yard after bringing in NS 25A

GORail 6963 leads NS 375 through Burgin

NS 375 coming through Shuttleworth

One of the new trains on the CNO&TP, NS 60R, rolls under the searchlights at CP Fayette with a CSX SD40-2 leading

NS 60R under the searchlights at Wilmore

NS 40D starts into the curve at Palm after passing under the searchlights

NS M67 passes by the searchlights at Bowen

NS 58A flies past the wide open field and under the serachlights at Geneva

NS 177 comes by the rarely photographed South Fork holdout signal

And here is the rarely photographed South Fork holdout signal upclose

Finally, here is 197 with a Santa Fe Warbonnet leading by the searchlights in Geneva

And 197 coming up Kings Mountain

Per usual, super pics Gage!

Three observations . . .
1) The second photograph of #375 is cool, as the trailing unit in the consist "disappeared" (from that perspective at Shuttleworth, it looks like #6963 is the only unit on the train).
2) That Sante Fe #948 locomotive has seen much better days.
3) What type of climbing, cutting through brush, etc. was involved in getting to that position for the South Fork signal photograph?

Looks like the weather and scenery track-side were spectacular during much of June 2014.

No climbing or cutting thankfully.. Just drive down a dirt road next to a corn field straight to the signal..
