another steamer moving

the local paper down here in birmingham said monday that plans are being made to move the frisco 2-8-2 #4018 from the fair grounds to sloss furnace. they hope to do it sometime next month. the engine was built in 1917 and has been at the fair park since 1952. a buddy of mine said his grand dad was the last man to run it under steam. they're talking about trucking it to  the rail then putting it on a flat car for the ride to b'ham. the man behind it all says he has "an eye toward eventually restoring it."
