When the the term Festivus become popular. I first remember hearing Jerry Stiller use the term on Seinfield.  It seems to me that the term has become much more widely used this year.

How can you argue with a holiday formed after a fight over a doll for Frank's son?

I think even the holiday itself has gradually become more popular each year since that episode of Seinfeld aired. It's a nice tongue-in-cheek sort of thing.  There is even a company in Milwaukee that sells plain extruded aluminum rods (very high strength-to-weight ratio) as Festivus poles.

My college gave out awful looking shirts for a fall festival. The shirts were screen printed with what appeared to be Jerry Stiller's face on the back. The message was: Fall Festivus 2007, See you at the pole!
