Title: RJC dumps a few gons in the creek
Post by: amzopff on March 16, 2006, 06:38:38 PM
This afternoon during my lunch break, I decided to drive by the ex-CSX yard in Lexington and noticed that RJC had a small derailment.  It appears that two gons loaded with sand derailed on the connection track between the yard and the ex-Sou LL line about 100 yrds short of the grade crossing at Old Fkft Pike.  One gon was completely in the creek while the other remained partially on the line.

A good viewing point was from the Lexington Cemetary to the east.  As usual, I didn't have my camera.

Well crap.  I drove by there this morning and watched a GP16 switch one or two cars, then glanced over into the yard this afternoon on my way to the Sweet 16 and noticed that those gondolas had moved a little bit away from behind the engine shop.  Wish I had paid more attention on my way to the game.
