Title: cottenbelt gp38-2

This is off the ns disscussion but i was wondering if anyone knew if cottonbelt had any gp38-2's that were built as a 38 and not a derated gp40-2? if so what road numbers were on them thanks in advance!

No, the Cotton Belt did not own any GP38-2s of its own. The only GP38-2s on the SP system, were owned and lettered for the Southern Pacific in the 4800 series, 4800-4844. Another group of ex CSX nee L&N GP38-2s joined the roster as well, but were lettered for the SP.
