A coronal mass ejection hit Earth on Dec 16th, causing some intense geomagnetic activity. This should result in better than average radio reception over the next 48 hours or so, but may be sporadic in some spots. Tropospheric Ducting (skip) should be decent over the Eastern US until 12/18/06.
I have been hearing a lot of "DX" on the NS road channel tonight, and it swings direction every hour or so. I have been able to hear DI tower in Cinncy and the CT dispatcher in Chatt, plus a lot of detectors that I don't normally get. A unusual thing for this time of year.
