Title: LaGrange Kentucky 08-23-2011 1pm
Post by: Ed Fury on August 17, 2011, 04:54:14 PM
The old passenger depot in LaGrange is getting a caboose delivered Tuesday the 23rd of August at 1pm. This is on the CSX LCL between Louisville and Cincinnati. The depot is just North of the world famous street running through downtown. Details are from the facebook page "Friends of the CSX Street Running in LaGrange" or something to that effect.

I am going to make an effort to go watch since I am sure from that day forward every set of photographs from LaGrange will include a photo of a CSX train passing by the caboose.

Caboose is being delivered by rubber wheels...

per Linda Goin who runs the page - ...it's an industrial mover, and they'll have it on a truck. I'm unsure at the moment about the route, but they're trying to avoid 53 and Main; so, my guess is 71 to Pendleton and down 146 to that road just east of the Depot. They then will come up Jericho. If this information changes, I'll let you know. Thanks!

*There's also mention of "The Flying Dutchman" I'm not sure if this is the name of the caboose or something else.
