For any of you that get a chance to explore old Burnside while the lake is down, here are the Sanborn Maps made in 1926 to help guide you on what used to be down there.  Great information on the businesses, houses, bridges and trestles, river inclines, the Cincinnati, Burnside, and Cumberland River and CNOTP trackage.  Burnside was truly a dynamic little town in it's heyday, with steam trains, steamboats, ferries, and lumber mills all going at the same time.  Enjoy and thanks again to the JREB crew for hosting!
