Here's what ran thru Springfield, IL today.  I'll update the late night info once I get a chance to review my recordings.  All times are approximate.  Usually they represent the time when a train calls the signal at the Illinois and Midland Crossing.

1) #315 - WB 01:51
     #122 and D2M both waiting at Iles to meet 21T and 66V; #122 was on the NS Pass and D2M on the UP Main.  21T and   
     66V "threaded the needle" in between both trains on the NS Main.

8) D37 - WB 08:00 (ran ahead of I&M coal train)

12) 27V - WB 11:01
13) D37 - EB 11:50 (NS 3542/7024; permission out behind 27V; worked I&M interchange 11:20-11:45)
14) 33J - WB (NS  2674/8997; met D37 at Dawson at 12:08 and #398 at 12:32; wide load: Caterpillar 777F dump truck chassis consigned to Barloworld Equipment Windhoek, Namibia via Cape Town, South Africa)

17) D2M - WB 14:11 (NS 9204; had to flag thru I&M interlocker; Curran grain train - cleared up for #121, #297, and D31)

27 train movements in a 24-hour period is a record for me.  Too bad it was a wet, rainy, miserable day for photography.  Looks like I have a "keeper" for the Train Dispatcher 3 simulator.

FYI:  Due to trackwork on the Union Pacific's line thru Springfield, Amtrak trains were being routed via the CN and I&M from CN Connection on the joint NS/UP line to Ridgely Tower (UP/I&M crossing) on the north side of town.  Only Amtrak trains #21 and #22, the Texas Eagles, take the detour route.  Trains #300, #304, #305, and #307 run on UP's line thru downtown either before or after the daily maintenance window.  Trains #302 and #303 are using bus connections between St. Louis and Bloomington-Normal to get around the track work. Trains #301 and #306 are being annulled.  Normal Amtrak service should resume on June 1st.
