Update on Heartland Corridor opening

As mentioned earlier, the Heartland Corridor commemorative opening is going to be held in or near Radford on Sept. 9 at the Cowan Tunnel.  When I checked with the NS Lawmen Band manager, Stan West, 2 days ago he told me the Lawmen will be there performing the new music/video "Raise 'em Up" at this event. That's all I know at this time. I emailed the city of Radford for info, with no respose yet. I'm also hoping for some additional information before driving 61/2 hours there on the 9th.  What confuses me is the Cowan/Pepper tunnel is +3k feet long with no direct public access for any "ribbon cutting" ceremony.  Any infomation relayed here will be appreciated.
