Coal and Coke

NS's decision to park a loaded coal drag along their  Sandusky Bay Ohio causeway on track 2 was a good one, allowing them to continue running trains over this high wind risk area during all the 50-70 mph wind yesterday. It is an area where the wind has blown cars into the drink.  Just about 10 months ago I was there when several empty containers ended up in the bay with far less winds. This problem dates back to Conrail days along this busy Chicago line. CSX had 3 Ohio wind related derailments during this time period.

Just shows how nature is even stronger than a loaded coal train!
