Anyone see it? Pretty compelling movie featuring the struggles of W. Va coal miners in the early 20th century. N&W runs through Matewan, but the film was made CLEARLY featuring Thurmond, WV on the ex-C&O, you can see alot of landmarks such as the station, coaling towers , c&o style cantilever signals (lighted signals if you want to get picky, I think at this time they likely had semaphores, if any signaling devices) and some items that dont exist anymore such as the water tower, yard offices, etc.

I am guessing they didnt actually film it in Matewan because by that time it actually resembled a town, and the flood wall may have been put up by this time.

thoughts?

I actually live a mile from matewan and run ns trains right through town everyday, i have worked for ns three years...if you like that movie check out october sky about the rocket boys from coalwood, another good movie about the region.
