I was looking through the FCC license database and found a license for NS that was granted back in June '12. It's for a repeater (160.275 out / 161.145 in) on Walden's Ridge north of Harriman.

Has anyone heard it or know what it's used for? I've listened some but haven't heard anything.

160.275 is one of the NS "ARN" channels...basically just a PBX system. I keep it plugged in one of my radios here at home in Central Ky, and hear traffic on it every once in awhile.

The ARN used to be lot more active, but with officials (and crews) having cell phones now, it does not see as much use (the fact its not private has a lot to do with that as well)..
