Title: Knoxville Locomove Works (KLW) to build new plant, create 203 new jobs
Post by: abdjones on November 22, 2013, 09:34:52 AM

KLW is expanding.  Following is link to news article; unless you are a subscriber to KNS, you only see the first part.  To summarize, 203 new jobs, purchasing 8 acres and 2 new buildings next to their current building, indoor tracks and overhead cranes are being installed in current building.

Is NS a customer or the customer?

WBIR covers it pretty well, and you don't have to be a subscriber. My six year old was disappointed to learn that child labor laws prevent his consideration.

I worked a long time for the G&O, and spent 3 years in Knoxville when the KXHR and KLW was just getting started. They have some VERY talented folks working in the shop, and that operation has grown immensely since I left.  Glad to hear they are expanding, and wish them much success.

The manger of the loco shop (Tom German) is about as close to a EMD expert as you will find anywhere..
