2015 Kentucky Derby Trains

2015 Saw the usual passenger train moves for the Kentucky Derby, except for the Amtrak / PV train from Chicago.  NS, CSX and R.J. Corman all made the trip for the run for the roses, and we had some good weather (which is not normally the case on Derby day).

After getting home LATE from a trip to Chattanooga to shoot the First mainline trip of Southern 4501 on Friday May 1st, we were up early and right back at it Saturday morning to record the passage of the yearly Derby traditions, and then again Sunday morning for the deadhead moves.  Here is a sample, and the entire set can be found at this link >>>  http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/2015derby

Do they park close to the Derby?

I saw a picture from the 40's that showed all the specials parked with a PRR K-4 providing steam for the cars.
