Yesterday was the division 7 modeltrain swap meet up here and I picked up a Athearn Genisis 45-2 FOR $60 !! However it's clinchfeild ! atleast it's black and I don't have to repaint it totally!  my only problem is the louvers in the back section of the loco ! I'm in the middle of the fuel tank dilemma by cutting some strips and removing the air tanks I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the lettering ? I used microsol that left a yellow mess   :o ! Anyway figured I would see if anyone fad a better solution

Thanks

I use a pencil eraser. It is slow going but mosty the letters come off and you can touch up the paint .. I have a ir gun but in the paint section at walmart they have a flat black paint called Camaflauge made by Krylon. It is Ultra Flat black. It has worked pretty good for me.
