Looking for a Radio

I'm new to the arena of radios, and I know there are several people here that are radio knowledgeable. I'm looking for a decent mobile unit that I can mount in my truck. I don't want to spend a ton of money,  but I do want something fairly decent. I would like to have something with a large channel memory so that I can program frequencies for some of the many areas I frequent into. Ideally I would like 100 channels programmable. I would also like to have something I can use after I get my operator's license.  I know lots of people are fond of some of the Yaesu handhelds, but I haven't found much in the way of recommendations for mobile units.
