Proud to be an American

Extreme Makeover, Home Edition this evening had a new episode with a former Marine who formerly lived in NYC but moved to Ohio. He was one of the thousands who went down to Ground Zero to help in recovery efforts.

You know the ole saying, "Once a Marine, always a Marine."

And Jason Thomas of Columbus, Ohio is one of the reasons why I fly "Old Glory" on my backporch 24/7, 365. Another is my dad is a Vietnam Veteran. My wife's brother-in-law is also an ex Marine.

I cannot be more proud of our Men and Women in our Armed Forces than any other country in the world. And that is why I am proud to be an American.

Another reason is the freedom to railfan and take photos of trains.
