While listening to the radio this morning, a train contacted the dispacther to report that they had a near miss in downtown Knoxville. The engineer informed the dispacther, who is new to the job, that he had "shot the air." To this the dispacther repeated the information back, and asked the engineer if he had to put the train into emergency (braking). ;D
Another instance, in the past, was when a train had reported to the dispacther that they had a handbrake stuck on a car. The dispacther then asked them if it was on the A or B end. ;D
