As a hardcore NS/NW/Sou fan, I rarely model anything else....but then there is the Chessie System. Growing up, I would occasionally make the trip to Harpers Ferry W. Va, Brunswick Md and Cumberland Md. with my dad to watch trains. I always liked the Chessie's bright colors. Well here is a stock Athearn that has been detailed and weathered.

Nice! I kinda regret painting my Chessie SD40-2. I always liked that in the 1970's when most RR's were painting things (bankrupt) black... Chessie went the other direction! Thanks for sharing! Dan

Yours looks pretty dang nice. I got a Chessie  sd40-2 dummy on ebay for about ten bucks. I was going to make a NS engine but I think I will wea ther it and just leave it as a dummy in a coal drag or then again to place it in a park setting with handrails around it near the track would maybe look nice. Put some railfans around it taking photos.
