So now there's newly published articles about UP wanting to restore a big boy, I have no idea how much truth is in this but how neat would that be? If so I say let's run the 1218 to the shop and get to work, we'll need some east coast competition. I'll believe it when I see it...........and that goes for either engine....but oh to dream....

It's true. The UP is in negotiations to reclaim Big Boy number 4014. This is the report from the Trains Magazine News Wire:

Well I thought the claims sounded fairly legitimate for once but kinda hated to get too excited just yet. I don't care much about railroads west of the Mississippi but a running big boy will get my attention.
