According to the NS intermodal site, the new intermodal terminal in Rossville, TN (Memphis) will be open for business on July 1st.  They released the schedules for the trains between Memphis and Northern Jersey.  It also said that the current intermodal terminal in Memphis will remain open for the time being for the Florida and international COFC traffic.  Here's the full article: http://www.nscorp.com/nscintermodal/Intermodal/News/Newsitems/news060812.html

NS currently runs only 1 direct train from Memphis to E-Rail, train 202.  It is routed via Chattanooga, Bristol, Hagerstown, Harrisburg, E-Rail NJ.  All NJ to Memphis traffic is sent via Linwood, and Atlanta where connections are made to trains 21R and 201 for Memphis.

My questions:  1.  Are they starting a new train from E-Rail to Memphis, or are they extending/rerouting either 201 or 21R to originate at E-Rail?

2.  What will be the primary function for the new Greencastle, PA intermodal terminal?  Will it serve the markets only on the Crescent Corridor, thus relieving Harrisburg/Rutherford of that responsibility?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Andrew
