...A trip to Oakdale, TN on a beautiful afternoon 1/27/14....

Headed out to Oakdale yesterday because of the incredibly beautiful weather... I eased down next to my beloved old Southern searchlite signal at Tunnel 25 (...south Oakdale...); got my Samsung NX300 mirrorless camera out; set the focus on the signal bridge and waited...

Here are a few decent pictures of what showed up... I'm still havin trouble usin this little beast... Lookin at the back of the camera instead of thru a viewfinder is killin me...

NS275 South way late in the evening (...after sundown...) literally creeping up on the signal at Tunnel 25....

I sat at Oakdale from about 3:35 pm until a  little after 7:00 pm... During that time, seven (...7...) trains rolled thru... Here they are: 55W North (...Grain empties...), 3:57 pm; NS142 North (...slop freight...), 4:23pm; NS143 South (...slop freight...), 4:34pm  (...rolling pass at Oakdale...); NS890 South (...Kingston Coal loads...), 5:20pm; NS148 North, 6:30pm; NS I15 South (...stack, intermodal... FEDEX, UPS...), 6:39 pm; NS275 South (...autorack...), 6:54 pm...

That's a lot of trains is a few hours...
