At 7 in the morning, E.M and I headed out in the search of the Reading. We both had hoped of getting an early morning shot of it coming across High Bridge. But the question was, where was the Reading at? It was either close or long gone. Well, it was neither. It was in fact far away. 55A had tied down at Robbins, among other northbounds that had tied down along the South End.

We ventured south in hopes of a crew jumping on board the Reading and bringing the train north. But instead we got a consolation prize of about 20 trains. During the afternoon, things had started to slow down, and the northbounds that were tied down in Tennessee had started to get relief crews and move north. Finally, about 4pm, NS 55A started moving north in great evening light. All in all, not a bad way to spend a beautiful, and COOL Sunday.

Below are a few pics from the day, the rest of the pictures and others can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46459752@N08/

NS 114 at Parkers Lake

NS 143 from the day before splits the signals at Pine Knot

NS 177 climbs the long grade at Keno

After meeting NS 224 at the State Line, NS 177 gets back up to track speed at Ratliff

NS 55A crosses under the searchlights at Revilo

After sitting at Robbins, TN all night and most of the afternoon. NS 55A with the Reading 1067 leading is making a quick trip up the north end on the CNO&TP as it leans into the wide, sweeping curve in Norwood.
