I thought ya might enjoy seein a "real local" at work down here in East Tennessee... The "Mascot Shifter" has been a mainstay of the old SRR and NS for a many a year... Zinc has been mined in East Tennessee for probably 150 or so years; and the old SRR and the NS has hauled most all of it out for processing... Todays local has 21 cars, or about 2400 tons... They will run west a few miles to John Sevier Yard and forward these loads to NyStar for processing down in central Tennessee (...i think...)...
