Tunnel 26 access

Does anyone know if that pain in the butt gate is still up on the road going down to 26 tunnel?   I had heard some time back, that the gate was gone due to the guy who owned the property and housing subdivision down along the river had in fact sold the development.   Any truth to this?  Thanks in advance.......
