The narrowband thread below promoted me to ask this, which I wanted in a new thread: I understand a lot of what is involved and how the channels will change. What I have found missing from all these threads is examples from folks on divisions already changed as to what the are experiencing on a day-to-day basis with current freqs. that have been set to narrowband transmissions?

If your div. has changed, is your radio X percent reduced volume? If it is 5 percent that is one thing, if it is 50 percent that is another?

What is the static situation like? is it a minor problem, major or not very noticeable?

Any other changes you can notice?

Many thanks,

CSX and NS have both converted to narrow band in Cincinnati and the difference is slight.  Reception is slightly poorer due to lower power and the audio seems a bit more crisp, which may have to do with the new radios more than anything.  For more information on the conversion, take a gander at this site.  http://www.dpdproductions.com/page_rrfreqs_newplan.html
