My heart goes out to the families.
My uncle perished fighting a fire about 15 years ago, 3 days before christmas. the pain is still raw. please keep these families in your prayers. these men died doing something not many of us would do, running into a burning building to save people.
My brother just got his first professional firefighting job, and he's been active in it all his life following in the footsteps of my dad so this story caught my eye this morning. It's the largest loss of firefighters since 911 and the City of Charleston lost over 100 years of firefighting experience. With the ages and years of servcie of some of these guys it makes me wonder how many of them were able to retire and just refused to lay down the hose. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
