I had a nice trip down to the Corning/Elmira area a week ago to visit family. It was also a nice excuse to check out the action on NS.

My first stop was the Gang Mills yard, where the MOW crew was working on the tracks.

Widecabs idling in the middle of the yard:

Former Southern GP 38-2s are still active in the area. Number 5115 and a standard cab Geep were parked near the service pad.

Former CR SD40-2 #3347 felt right at home in a former Conrail facility:

Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

I also caught a meet further east on the Southern Tier Mainline. First up was NS/CP eastbound 38T:

Eastbound 38T passes the signals:

After 38T clear, 12T got under way:

12T had traffic for the Bath & Hammondsport RR. These double deckers NJT  coaches were probably handed off the next day, for refurbishment at the Bombadier Plant on Kanona.
