I wonder how the truck driver is going to explain that to his boss after he sees that he drove through the gates.

I wonder what the lead unit looked like after the crash. Were there any injuries to the train's crew? That was one hell of a hit!

I think this video was on a show on Spike TV a few weeks ago, Train Wrecks or something like that. I think it was Thanksgiving Day when it was on, but it showed a lot of different trains hitting cars, people and derailments.

It reminds me of that video from the early or mid 90's where an NS GE (I think it was a spartan cab, maybe a C39) rolls through a truck stopped on the crossing. The train was pretty much creeping but still took out the truck as well as the gates and I think a signal as well. In this video I was impressed with how quick they got the train stopped, based on the length of the equipment I'd say they got it stopped in about 1300 feet or so.

The engine was C39-8E NS 8687, and your description of the footage is correct.

I know the one you guys are talking about.  Here it is, looks like it was clipped from some TV show.

Also here's another one I found.  Looks like a local, but it too involves a semi.

If memory serves correctly that second video is from some time this spring and it was about 40 miles South of Salisbury(where the original video in the thread was shot) in Gastonia. The Charlotte district has had lots of crossing accidents the past few years it seems.
