On Sunday, March 16, 2008, the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum is operating
a morning photo train in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This trip is being operated to
get some publicity pictures and for a group of railfans from around the
country who will be in the area for a special event that we are operating.

OAK RIDGE TRIP: Sunday, we will be running a trip over the former Manhattan
Project K-25 railroad near Oak Ridge (7+ unique miles). Departure is at 8am
from the Wheat station at the main entrance. We will cover the entire railroad
and make several photo stops. The equipment will be one or more former
CofG/Southern coaches, a Southern dining car, and a Southern coach. Power
could be almost anything but probably one of our C-420s and probably a GP30.
Our recently acquired GM&O 631 will be around as well as L&N 1616 and Southern
6913 (E-8). Cost is $30. The trip will be over by noon.

The Oak Ridge dep arture point is off of Highway 58 west of Oak Ridge. From I-
40, take exit 356 and travel toward Oak Ridge about 6 miles. Look for a big
facility to the north. There are excursion railroad signs but also look for a
big fancy Heritage Center sign. Turn in and look for the train. From Oak
Ridge, take Highway 95 west (south). At the junction with Highway 58, take
Highway 58 toward I-40. The plant will be on your right in about 2 miles.
There are numerous hotels in Oak Ridge from Super 8 on up.

Send payment to SARM C/O Bart Jennings, P.O. Box 620, Avon, IL 61415 (I'm
handling the other event so I'm handling the payments). Make checks out to
SARM (Southern Appalachia Railway Museum). You can also show up and pay at the
train. Funds go to help us maintain our fleet and to run trips.
