Title: athearn cabs
Post by: 44 gevo on May 30, 2009, 08:10:52 PM
Does anyone know if Athearn makes a low profile cab for their sw1000's to make them an sw1001? It would'nt have to be athearn it could be from some other manufacture. As far as I know that the only difference between the units.

The Sw1001 is quite a bit different than the SW1000.  The walkways sit much lower on the frame of the SW1001, which results in a taller hood.  The cab is also a little longer.

THanks Chris for thehelp! I thought the cab was the  only  difference between these two units. I was going to model one or two sw1001's in athearn. I know a guy that has several Athearn sw1000's for sale that are undecorated and powered for $20.00 each I think that a good buy.
