Late afternoons and early evenings (...sometimes til dark...) are pretty busy on the Knoxville-Harriman line around the hamlet of Clinton... There are always a couple of locals and several road trains moving thru... I love Clinton for several reasons; its close to my house, it's quiet, and there are most always trains moving thru...

I spent about 3 or so hours last evening here and saw a couple of relatively notable sights... The first is a southbound rail train (...NS910...) with a relatively unusual engine configuration; long hood forward... The pictures are a bit "lazy"; as they were shot on the "wrong or shady side" at about 5:45 pm or so; so there are plenty of shadows...

The third shot was done at about 8:00 pm or so; and is a relatively unusual sight for this part of the line... A CSX locomotive... It is leading grain empties (...NS 55A...) northbound; and is gettin ready to push a southbound grain train (...50G...) that is waiting at Laurel Siding...The CSX 641 is a bit unusual; as i think it is one of the 4000/6000 horsepower "convertables"...

Hope ya enjoy the pictures...
