Gang,

Im working at Warner Robins AFB this week.... Anything worth checking out in this area?  NS main across the street, and I know the yard at Macon is a jaunt up the road.

I lived in Warner Robins for seven years.  There's not much to do in town, rail-related or non rail-related.  There's the Air Force Museum on the south side of the base.  It has a large, interesting collection of aircraft.  The depot in town has been made into a visitors center.  There's also a restored Southern caboose at the depot.  All rail traffic that runs in and out of Jacksonville goes through town, along with the Valdosta trains and some Brosnan Yard based locals.  In all, about 16 trains in a 24 hour period.  The biggest rail served customers in the area is the glass plant in Warner Robins, Frito Lay in Kathleen (south of WR), and the cement plant in Clinchfield.

Let me know if you need some more info.  I'll be happy to help.

Cordele, a good way south is a favorite of mine.  NS line crosses very busy CSX line and HOG shortline crosses there also.  Can get very busy.
